Update: When you book a consultation with me, you will be redirected to another website/page that I am affiliated with (Alma) - this is temporary.
However, once you are on the Alma profile, you will be able to schedule a consultation. If you do not see an available timeframe, you can still book a consultation without a time slot and I will outreach you with other available options.
Sometimes, life gets tough. Sometimes, situations or events feel too overwhelming to overcome. Sometimes, we just don't feel like ourselves. I've always enjoyed offering support in unique ways from a young age, which has initiated my path to ultimately becoming a therapist. I have been working in the mental health field for a decade serving people who have experienced severe mental health issues and homelessness. During this time, three of those years were spent working with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults who have experienced mild-to-moderate anxiety, PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), MDD (major depressive disorder), work-related stressors, life transitions, building boundaries, building self-esteem, and more. I utilize various modalities to aid in the healing journey through your mind and body. I am dedicated to helping you feel empowered to handle the experiences in your life.
My core values as a fellow human are reflected in my work as a therapist. I believe that anyone can accomplish their goals if they ultimately believe in themselves. I use empowerment as a tool to help you build self-esteem and reduce anxiety, worry. I utilize a solution-focused perspective to help you reframe your struggles and create solutions. If something is not working, I will take some steps back or start from the drawing board to find what will be appropriate. Lastly, I believe in self-care, which is different for everyone. Being able to connect or re-connect to yourself through nature, meditation, journaling, exercise, yoga, and breathwork - to name a few, are powerful tools to aid in re-connecting with your mind, body, and soul. It also helps to build self-confidence and the ability to recognize the strength that is already WITHIN you.
First and foremost, I strive to create an environment that is built on safety, trust, and the client feeling seen and heard.
Your first session includes an in-depth assessment, covering your concerns, background, and goals. Subsequent sessions focus on achieving those goals with practical tools, targeted homework, and evidence-based interventions. Weekly sessions are recommended initially to maintain progress, with flexibility as improvements are made.
I use several modalities because I believe it is not a one size fits all. My approach is client-centered talk based therapy. I incorporate these modalities into our sessions: CBT - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Theory, Psychoanalytic Theory, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution Focused Therapy, Strength based approach, narrative therapy, Humanistic Theory and somatic practices (breathing techniques, meditations, visualizations).
